If you are involved in the process of arranging LTL freight shipments, you need to know about the most recent updates from the National Motor Freight Classification. Familiarize yourself with the changes before they go into effect on December 29th, 2018 by reading below.

NMFC Supplement 4 Updates include, but are not limited to:
SUBJECT 1: Boot Group – Item 28160. Changing to a two-tier density break.
Sub 1: Less than 6 PCF – Class 200.
Sub 2: 6 PCF or Greater – Class 125.
SUBJECT 2: Machinery – Item 123550. Changing to a three-tier density break.
Sub 1: Less than 6 PCF – Class 250.
Sub 2: 6PCF but less than 10PCF – Class 150.
Sub 3: 10PCF or greater – Class 92.5.
SUBJECT 8: Electrical Equipment – Item 61900. Cancelled.
Item 61910 created to include exhaust and ventilating fans with a two-tier density break.
Sub 1: Less than 6 PCF – Class 200.
Sub 2: 6PCF or greater – Class 110.
