Dawn Johnston

Vice President of Safety and Risk Management

Dawn Johnston serves as the Vice President of Safety and Risk Management at Roadrunner. In this role, she oversees and is responsible for compliance, adherence to regulation, and the overall safety of our Independent Contractor business partners while on the road, team members while they are at work, and the motoring public. Dawn loves seeing the growth at Roadrunner and is helping to create a new culture of compliance. 

Dawn has spent the last 30 years in the transportation industry. Her career started in the United States Air Force as a Supply Management Specialist supporting logistics efforts overseas during the Gulf War. She’s worked in all facets of transportation, safety, risk management, and compliance across the industry. Dawn has also worked for the Wisconsin State Department of Transportation as a motor carrier expert on regulatory authority, oversize overweight vehicles, implements of husbandry, and roundabouts. Dawn sits on many committees and associations, including WisDOT motor carrier advisory committee. In her spare time, Dawn enjoys home improvement, reading, and spending time with her two Shih tzus, Bentley and Lily.
